semantic web finishedness

it's all done, although, we managed to forget a photo somehow. And typically the software was playing up which means that the pictures haven't come out right, so they look awful.

Will make another post when it's all put up online as atm I can't log onto my website server...

semantic web....

Well, all of the code is basically done, although we both don't really understand actionScript too well, so we could have used some loops and things to reduce the code, but we thought that as we've got it working now, we don't want to break it!

Flash is always a challenge, I would love to have some tutorials, I feel we have all been let down by not being taught ActionScript to the level that we are expected to use it.

I am very relieved to have got this far with it, and can't wait for it to be finnished! I need a pint... maybe 10! Can't wait for Christmas!

I will be posting an online link as soon as it get's put up online for all to view.

Semantic Web

Start of a new project!

Again, me and Louise are working together on this project.

Our idea is to make a programme that allows you to type in what mood you are in, and from that will find a film from it's database and display a number of choices for you.

If we have the time to develop this idea, we will try and give it an area of intelligence, letting the user tell the programme when it has made a mistake with it's sugestions. Although, I am not sure if we will be able to manage this!

We will start off with the first idea, focusing on making it work :P

Organism Project - Completed!

Well, this is a belated Blog entry, it's amazing how busy I've been lately!

Anyway, the plant is now complete and can now be viewed at : www.emma.webfor.biz/plant.htm

So go ahead and test it out!

~~~~~~
A bit of background:
The program has been tested on Firefox and IE, but only on PC's, no mac testing, so I do appologise if it breaks for some unexpected reason.
The plant has appeared to take a disliking to some of it's coding and evolved into a plant with a personality. After a lot of testing it appears that it changes it's mind about how nourishing each website is, so you will have to catch it in a good mood and be nice to it, maybe stroke the screen a little or something, these thing's always help!
After a lot of testing Louise and I decided to keep this little quirk in, as it may not be doing exactly what we thought it might do, but it is still fulfilling it's function. To "fix" this quirk would be like taking away it's personality, and that should never be done!
So please, go and enjoy the wonderous plant!!!
